There are loads of ways to get involved in your community, from taking part in lifelong learning classes, to being on a community council or joining a group of likeminded people to take control and make your own changes.
Have you ever thought about having your say?
Are you a participant in a group, but think maybe you are experienced enough to help others learn?
Perhaps there’s something that you really want to change, locally, Nationally or even internationally?
However, starting something new, or going to an established committee for the first time can be a bit daunting; What should you say? How will you convince others to join you? What if you make a mistake? What if no one agrees with you?
These questions are real, but the reality is that groups, committees and forums are very keen to hear from people like you, whoever you are.
We can help if you are looking for a way to get involved – we can talk you through the available groups and give you a wee bit of training to make sure you are ready to take part.
